A tornado caused destruction in Fort Lauderdale on January 6. It tore through a residential area and the marina, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Eyewitnesses filmed how there were repeated bright flashes of light – the high wind speeds destroyed several power transformers. Here are the impressive videos:
The hurricane caused minor damage to boats and buildings. However, there are no reports of injuries.
An apparent tornado touched down near Las Olas and the Intracoastal earlier this evening. There have been no reports of injuries so far. The Fort Lauderdale Fire Department is assessing the damage, which appears to be minor.
