They immediately alerted San Diego police. “Due to the unusual location of the body, the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit was called in to investigate,” the San Diego Police Department wrote in a statement.
Former resident of the house
It has now revealed that the body is that of Mary H.*, who was considered missing or dead for up to nine years. She would have been 81 years old at the time of her discovery.
The exact cause of death has not yet been fully clarified and is currently under investigation by the coroner. However, investigators have already stated that Mary H. was the previous resident of the home.
Investigators could find no obvious traumatic injuries on the body. However, according to police, the case is classified as a suspicious death. San Diego police would now like to speak to anyone who knew her or has other relevant information about her.

As Pete Carillo, a former San Diego homicide detective, told Fox 5 San Diego, police would likely scrutinize the financial records of the dead. “It concerns embezzlement of a corpse. In such a case you have a duty to inform the authorities,” says Carillo.
