Dog Cecil from the American city of Pittsburgh has irritated his owners despite his cute puppy eyes. The Goldendoodle (a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle) has gobbled up $4,000 in an unnoticed moment. American media report this.
Dog mother Carrie Law explains what happened on Instagram. “Cecil never did anything bad—until he ate four thousand dollars before Christmas.” The incident happened in the middle of the night. «I heard a strange noise and when I went to look, I saw that there was a lot of paper lying around. “I went to pick it up and realized, ‘There are a lot of half-eaten $100 and $50 bills here,'” her husband Clayton told Today magazine.
The family saved the money for a new fence and simply collected it from the bank. Cecil apparently thought the envelope was meant for him and went after the expensive snack. The dog swallowed about half of it; the rest was torn up on the living room carpet.
Annoying puzzle work
The laws immediately wondered: are swallowed banknotes dangerous for the seven-year-old four-legged friend? The vet cleared everything. The night after the binge, the money started to escape naturally again. The pooch vomited up some of the money.
This gave the laws an idea of how they could save the most money. “We searched Cecil’s feces, carefully preserved and washed all parts. Then we glued them back together. “Clayton had to dig through Cecil’s pile several times.”
With success: the two managed to save around €3,550. The bank even took the money back. According to media reports, two requirements must be met: more than half of the notes must be present and they must have the correct serial number. “We’re just happy that Cecil is doing well and that we can make people laugh with our story,” says Carrie.
