Deobra Redden dives near Judge Holthus.

Deobra Redden (30) is accused of serious bodily harm. He will appear in Las Vegas court on Wednesday before Judge Mary Kay Holthus, who will have to decide whether he should be released on probation or behind bars. She chooses the latter.

As she is about to announce her verdict, the criminal suddenly sprints, dives over the judge’s bench and tries to attack Holthus! In the scuffle, the flags fall to the ground behind them and court officials try to pull the fool away.

He insults the judge viciously; it takes several people to separate Redden from his victim. He must be brought to his senses with a beating.

The judge suffered a minor head wound

Holthus is no longer visible during the entire recording and lies on the ground. It later became known: she suffered a minor head wound in the attack, but was doing well so far, according to the prosecutor.

A court officer was also slightly injured during the scuffle with Redden, suffering a laceration and dislocating his shoulder. The prosecutor said: “Thank you for the heroic efforts of those who came to her aid. Without them the situation would have been much worse as this defendant has exhibited extremely violent behavior and I am confident there will be consequences.”

According to television channel KLAS, an alarm sounded for several minutes to alert others to the incident. Deobra Redden must now appear in court again next week. And this time it will probably be heavily guarded. (neo)
