The hotels did not want negative advertising with a photo of a bedbug on a booking platform, so they organized a preventive check of the rooms, said the chairman of the Syndicate of Experts in the Detection of Bedbugs by Dogs. Sébastien Pizzocaro, to the newspaper. “In this way, pests can be detected early before the arrival of the large waves of tourists.” Approximately 30 euros was charged per room examined. If bed bugs are actually found, insect control officials can use a steam treatment to eradicate them.
The Summer Games are scheduled from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and the Paralympic Games will follow from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
Last summer there was a real hysteria about bed bugs in France.
