A 10-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl are watching the fireworks on New Year’s Eve with their father, when suddenly several men storm into the restaurant. They beat up the Dane, forced the children into two cars and sped away. This is reported by the newspaper ‘Bild’, citing the Danish police.

The girl and the boy are the children of Danish steakhouse heiress Christina Block (Block House). Police immediately launched a manhunt and also alerted German authorities because the kidnapping took place not far from the German border. And: the kidnappers’ license plates were issued in Germany. According to “Bild”, the Hamburg police are now investigating the case.

But neither German nor Danish authorities know where the children might be.

Bitter custody battle

Christina Block would not comment on her children’s disappearance when asked for a photo. The daughter of entrepreneur Eugen Block (83) has been arguing with her ex-husband Stephan Hensel for a long time about custody of the children. Block recently said in a ‘Bild’ interview that she felt alienated from her family. She only has sporadic contact with the children.

The Danish police had to take action last year. After visiting her father in August 2021, Hensel did not return her as agreed. “My husband is hurt by the divorce,” Christina Block wrote in an email to the online magazine VIP.de. “He is happy with any means, even if it means abusing the weakest. These are the children. He knows he touches my heart with this.”

For his part, Hensel claimed in a telephone conversation with VIP.de that they did not want to return to their mother and spoke of psychological and physical violence by the mother, which he was able to prove with reports. The children are under police protection and his house is monitored by cameras. (An)
