It is an unparalleled success story: Lejla (27) from Ingoldstadt in Upper Bavaria has lost 50 kilos in just 12 months – without any exercise. Bild reports this.

The 167 centimeter tall woman still weighed 120 kilos in February 2019, but in 2020 she only weighed 70 kilos.

Counting calories for success

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked at the scale,” Lejla told the newspaper. After realizing she was obese a few months ago, she decided to make a change. Said and done. She started her weight loss journey with a low-carb diet. With the low-carb diet, the young woman lost ten kilos of weight in just a few weeks.

Despite her success, Lejla was still not satisfied with the method. Giving up carbohydrates for the rest of her life seemed unthinkable to the German. So she decided to use the calorie deficit as an alternative. In short: consume fewer calories than you burn.

Using an online tool, she calculated her calorie needs and arrived at a daily deficit of 500 calories. “I was left with 2,000 calories a day. This is completely feasible. I haven’t had to go hungry for a single day. “I could eat as much as I wanted,” she says. In fact, the method was a huge success: Lejla lost an extra 40 kilos in just six months.

“I am lazy”

In an interview with the newspaper, the young woman says that she chose the path of least resistance. “I’m lazy. “I just changed my diet,” she says.

Lejla relied a lot on proteins and replaced sugar with sweeteners. Moreover, she always bought the light product if possible. “With each glass or plate you save 50 to 100 calories. “It increases during the day,” says the young woman.

Today Lejla shares her success story with others on her Instagram channel Lejla–fit, where she posts low-calorie dishes.

Blick reporter Luisa Ita (28) also applies the calorie deficit method and has lost no less than 64 kilograms. Three years ago she weighed 137 kilograms, now she still weighs 73 kilograms. On Instagram she shows her daily life as “low calorie” and she can now count on 125,000 followers. She shared her tips for losing weight without making sacrifices on the show ‘Luisa’s Easier Life’.
