Due to flooded railway tunnels near London, a number of train connections between the European continent and the British capital were canceled on Saturday morning.
As can be seen on the Eurostar operator’s website, more than a dozen connections from Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam to London and in the opposite direction have been canceled this morning.
There will be no trains running on the high-speed route, which is also used by Eurostar trains running through the Channel Tunnel under the Channel, until the end of the day. The message called on train passengers to look for alternative connections.
According to train operator Southeastern Railway, the flooded part of the route consists of two tunnels running under the Thames at Ebbsfleet station in Kent. Both were closed due to flooding. (SDA)
