Once again, a confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin (71) dies a mysterious death. Vladimir Egorov (†46), a senior member of Putin’s United Russia party, fell from the window of his house and died on the spot.
According to Russian state news agency Tass, Egorov fell from a window in his home in Tobolsk, a city in western Siberia. Egorov fell about nine meters into the depths. His body was found on Wednesday.
According to official authorities, the cause of death of the region’s deputy head of parliament is currently unclear. His death is now being “investigated in more detail,” the report continues. Egorov reportedly suffered from health problems.
Not the first death
Egorov founded a law firm in 2001, but subsequently worked in public administration. In 2016, he was indicted over a corruption scandal in which he allegedly gave free land to a businessman. But there was no punishment. Egorov was recently one of the richest men in the city.
The MP is not the first Putin confidant to die a mysterious death. Multimillionaire and Putin friend Anton Cherepennikov (†40) died in his office in July. A day earlier, billionaire oligarch Igor Kudryakov (†64) was found dead in his apartment in Moscow.
In June, a Russian bank boss (†28) fell out of a window in Moscow and died. Marina Yankina (†58), a high-ranking employee of the Ministry of Defense, died in February. It is also said that she fell out of the window.
