In the Jeffrey Epstein abuse scandal, a New York court has ordered the publication of names linked to the late American multimillionaire. According to estimates by the American media, 150 or more people are named in court documents in a civil dispute between the injured American Virginia Giuffre and Epstein’s old and now convicted partner Ghislaine Maxwell.

In a decision announced on Tuesday, the federal judge in Manhattan set publication for early January 2024. Until then, those involved can still file an objection.

Epstein was arrested in July 2019. The businessman, who had connections in the highest circles, is said to have sexually abused countless girls, including minors. About a month after his arrest, Epstein was found dead in his cell at the age of 66. A previous indictment against Epstein had yielded a very advantageous deal for the entrepreneur, making him a symbol of a social elite that can get away with crime. His celebrity relationships and death gave rise to numerous rumors and conspiracy theories. (sda/dpa)
