Apparently the 20-year-old slipped while jumping. A bystander’s video captured the moment.

Horrible accident during a circus performance at the hippodrome in Great Yarmouth, a city in the east of England: a 20-year-old acrobat performs daring jumps and tricks on the “Ferris wheel of death” together with his brother.

Then it happens: the man fails a figure – and according to the BBC, he falls about 10 meters into the ring, in front of shocked children and adults. Helpers immediately rush to his side.

“He was fully conscious”

The man’s condition is unclear; he was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital. Ringmaster Jack Jay tells the BBC he can only speculate about the nature of the injuries, but he believes they are broken bones.

Jack Jay told the station: “He was fully conscious after the fall and two bystanders, believed to be an off-duty police officer and a paramedic, came to his aid.”

“He Slipped”

The director also explains how the fall could have happened: “It looked like a misstep. He tried to jump through one of the wheels, slipped and landed on the ground.”

After the accident, the circus cancels the performance. The relevant authorities are now investigating the incident and the equipment the acrobats used to perform their tricks.
