Gottschalk successor: Kaulitz brothers fuel ‘Wetten, dass..?’ rumors that hurricane reaches mainland India – at least twelve dead

On November 25, Thomas Gottschalk presented “Wetten,dass..?” for the last time. and said goodbye with impressive viewing figures. It is not yet known whether and how the cult format will continue. ZDF has not yet announced a decision.

It is not surprising that there has been talk of a possible Gottschalk successor for weeks. Names such as Barbara Schöneberger, Florian Silbereisen and Jan Böhmermann are mentioned.

In their podcast “Kaulitz Hills – Mustard from Hollywood” Tom and Bill Kaulitz of Tokyo Hotel now claim that they “Wetten, dass..?” will take over. However, its veracity is questionable for the time being.

The Kaulitz brothers talk about Gottschalk

The Kaulitz twins recently caused a stir at the 1Live Krone. During the awards ceremony, they accepted the award in the ‘Best Entertainment’ category for their podcast. At the end of the acceptance speech, Tom suddenly explained: “The very last thing I want to do is confirm a rumor. Yes it’s true! Bill and I take ‘We Bet…?’ about.”

This announcement was initially hardly taken seriously. But now the brothers are talking again in the podcast about “Wetten, dass..?”. Here Tom now says that he “doesn’t want to judge” Gottschalk’s performance.. Bill, on the other hand, does not hold back and tells the moderator:

Confusion about the “Laws, dass..?” future

Tom then appears diplomatic again and intervenes: “We are following in great footsteps.” The people enjoyed the show with Gottschalk and the Kaulitz brothers now face a big task, he confirms. The musicians say that the contract with ZDF has already expired.

At least Bill is already planning to change some things about the format. He even suggests renaming the show, but Tom objects. At this point the two must come to an agreement.

But with or without: a new edition “Wetten, dass..?” is probably not expected until 2025 at the earliest, because production requires a lot of lead time.

It is doubtful, at least at this time, that the Kaulitz brothers have actually been confirmed as Gottschalk’s successors. As soon as a decision has been made, it will probably be announced immediately by ZDF.

Tom and Bill already have experience as presenters thanks to their own music program “That’s My Jam”, which was canceled after three broadcasts on free TV. Will that be enough to soon have a cult show like “Wetten,dass..?” Taking over is then questionable.
