In Munich (D), the fire brigade rescued a father and his one-year-old son from an elevator that could no longer be stopped. The two wanted to go to the ground floor of a residential building, the fire brigade said on Wednesday. The elevator didn’t stop there, but went back up, then down again, and so on.

The man tried to get help via the intercom in the elevator. The voice on the other end of the line explained that he couldn’t help him. The woman waited in the stairwell with four other children. The fire department said she eventually called 911.

Emergency services arrived and activated the emergency stop for the elevator. Then, according to the information, they manually drove the elevator to the next floor and opened the sliding doors with a special key. No one was injured and the elevator was shut down. (AFP)
