Following the violent deaths of three homeless people and another man in Los Angeles, prosecutors in California have filed murder charges. A 33-year-old suspect has been charged with four murders, authorities announced on Monday (local time). The man was arrested last week after an alleged robbery in which a 42-year-old was shot dead in his home. As part of the investigation, the police were able to link the suspect to the murders of the homeless through surveillance images.
Three men sleeping outside on the streets in Los Angeles were killed by gunfire on separate nights in late November. The victims were 37, 52 and 62 years old. A motive for the crimes was not initially given. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect could face life imprisonment if found guilty. (sda/dpa)
