A 25-year-old caused a terrible accident at 2 a.m. in Wiesbaden (D): In a 30 km/h zone, he first crashed his silver VW Touran into a traffic island and then into a boulder, which was then five meters away.

The vehicle crashes into several cars and eventually tips over. Several parked vehicles are damaged, a lantern and the boulder hit the accident vehicle. It can be assumed that the young man was driving at a speed much higher than 30 km/h.

Boy has to go to hospital with head injuries

Incredibly, when residents, awakened by the noise, rush to help, all they find is an injured baby in the car! A six-month-old boy lies in the wreckage, seriously injured in the head. First aiders care for him until the ambulance arrives. Fortunately, the injuries are not life-threatening – which is nothing short of a miracle. Because the boy wasn’t strapped into his baby seat.

But where is the driver involved in the accident? The man ran away after the accident and only turned himself in to police in the morning, claiming to be the driver – and the boy’s father.

Suspicion of driving under the influence

Now, according to ‘Bild’, he must not only be held accountable for the accident, but also for not providing assistance and leaving a child behind. Moreover, a reason for his escape could be his drunkenness. The police took a blood sample on suspicion.

In order to accurately reconstruct the accident, experts will be on site the next morning and all cars will be secured. (neo)
