Jennifer Flewellen (41) from the US was in a coma for almost five years. Now she has woken up.

American Jennifer Flewellen (41) is living proof that miracles still exist. After almost five years, the mother of three from the US state of Michigan woke up from her coma. And that even though even the doctors no longer believed it. This was reported by the American broadcaster WNDU.

“No one expected her to wake up,” Peggy Means, Flewellen’s mother, told the station. For years they were told that their brain damage was too serious.

She crashed her car into a utility pole

The 41-year-old was seriously injured in a serious car accident in September 2017. She crashed her car into a utility pole and immediately became unconscious. She was then in a coma for four years and eleven months.

A time when she was forced to miss all her sons’ football matches. But that’s over now. A few weeks after Flewellen woke up, she was back on the sidelines. This wasn’t just any game, but rather her youngest son’s senior game in high school.

As the report states, Flewellen’s return to the field was eagerly awaited. The community fondly remembered the devoted mother who made a name for herself as the loudest fan on the sidelines. “Anyone who knew Jenn knew she was very loud,” Means said. Her children always said they couldn’t hear their coach. “You were louder than the coach,” the sons would always say.

“It’s almost a miracle”

The joy of Flewellen’s presence at the game was immense: “It’s a miracle that she’s at her youngest son’s graduation tonight,” Cassie Lee, a lifelong friend, told the station.

The game was a huge success in other ways, too: Flewellen’s son landed the game’s first touchdown, giving his mother another reason to smile. (dzc)
