After two bodies were found in a burned-out house in France, the 15-year-old son of the two victims was arrested.
Valentin N.* (15) disappeared after the fire in his parents’ house near Lyon, the Public Prosecution Service said on Saturday. He was eventually discovered and arrested that morning in Montpellier, in the south of the country.
Older brother safe
The family’s home in the town of Chateauvilain of 800 inhabitants, about 60 kilometers from Lyon, burned down on Monday evening. Two bodies were found in the rubble, which also had gunshot wounds. This concerns the father (†58) and mother (†52) of Valentin N., who probably fled in the family car after the crime.
Since then, there has been an active search for the 15-year-old son. A brother who was two years older had left home on the eve of the tragedy to go to his study place. He is safe, police say. (AFP/jmh)
