Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harrishe declared this Saturday that this country will not allow it “forced resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank”nor “redesign” the strip border.
The Vice President held a meeting in Dubai today, in United Arab Emirateswith the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisiwith whom he discussed future reconstruction, security and government efforts that must be undertaken in the Gaza Strip at the end of the current conflict.
“Under no circumstances will the United States allow the forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, the siege of Gaza, or the redrawing of Gaza’s borders,” Harris said, according to a statement from his office.
The vice president is in Dubai, where she participates in World Summit on Climate Actionwhich is framed in UN climate summit and that this Saturday celebrates the third day.
Harris thanked the Egyptian president for his efforts on the ceasefire in between Israel and Hamaswhich allowed the release of more than 100 hostages, including Americans, while increasing the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, “before Hamas violated the ceasefire,” according to his office.
The Vice President emphasized that the United States remains committed to seeking the release of all hostages in close cooperation with regional partners.
He stated that the Hamas group cannot control the Gaza Strip, because it is “unsustainable for the security of Israel, the well-being of the Palestinian people and regional security”, and decided to revitalize the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) in the face of “a clear political horizon for the Palestinian people”.
Israel and Hamas on Friday morning broke the truce agreed between them Qatar, Egypt and the USAwhich included issuing The Islamist group kidnapped 105 hostages (81 Israelis and 24 foreigners) in exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, all women and minors.
This truce, which lasted from November 24 to 30, marked a pause in the war that broke out on October 7, following an attack by Islamist group militants on Israeli soil.
Today, Vice President Harris held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, whom she also thanked for his efforts in freeing the hostages and providing humanitarian aid.
