In a video on social media, a Russian soldier reports disastrous conditions in his shelter.

A dilapidated hut, barely any protection and holding out in knee-deep water: a Russian soldier shows the conditions of his shelter on the Dnipro River in a Telegram video on the “Dva Majora” channel. The young man wants to make it clear what life in war is really like.

First he films his house. She almost falls apart – a situation that takes its toll on the young man. ‘Look how we have to live. I’m also not interested in drones anymore. I just don’t do it,” the soldier says in the video. By the drones, the soldier probably means the Ukrainian missiles raining down on the Russian positions.

The soldier then shows the area around the hut. Bullet casings are everywhere, mounds of mud pile up and the water washes away important nutrients. “Oh shit,” says the soldier, “where did you send us? To certain death?”

According to the Telegram channel, the recordings come from a small island in the Dnipro River. Apparently the transfer there is even considered a punishment. Because as soon as they arrive at the front, a series of problems await the soldiers. Not only with the artillery, but also with the communication structures.

The Dnipro has long been considered a frontline between Russian and Ukrainian forces. The situation has turned into a prolonged trench war. Ukrainian forces have recently managed to recapture and successfully defend southern coastal areas. (An)
