Drama over leaks in Nord Stream pipelines – first videotapes Iran puts British politicians and media on terrorist list

One of the leaks off the Danish island of Bornholm.

The leak in the Nord Stream pipeline:

Although some grass has grown as a result of the unfolding war events, the drama surrounding the leaks in the two Nord Stream pipes has of course not been forgotten. About three weeks ago, a total of four leaks were discovered in the pipes of Nord Stream 1 and 2. The Danish government quickly concluded that it could not be an accident, the pipelines were attacked deliberately.

The European Union also considered sabotage likely and threatened to take countermeasures. Accusations were soon made – though not directly worded – that Russia had deliberately destroyed the pipelines. The Kremlin immediately denied them, dismissing the allegations as “stupid and absurd”.

The incident is still under investigation, but now images of the damaged pipes have surfaced for the first time. The twisted and bent metal was filmed 80 meters below the sea surface using an underwater drone.

The Danish police speak of strong explosions that caused the leaks. According to the Swedish daily Expressen, part of the damaged Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which is at least 50 meters long and may be buried in the seabed, is missing.

Since the damage occurred in international waters, Russia has asked to be involved in the investigation. Denmark and Sweden, however, rejected this. (first)
