Arjun S.** is said to have traveled to Switzerland before the crime. There he allegedly threatened the victim’s family.

What was Gurpreet S.’s motive?

According to the report, investigators evaluated 2,500 messages that the woman from the canton of Zurich and the suspect sent to each other. The explosive role of the father came to light.

In one of the messages, Swiss woman asked Gurpreet S. to call his father Arjun and ask him to leave their home in Switzerland after hearing that he had threatened her parents if she did not pay.

The investigators have now ruled out that Gurpreet S. murdered Tanja F. because of a rejected marriage proposal. During interrogations, the man repeatedly became embroiled in contradictions. Instead, the motive may have been a dispute over money.

Murder instruments: iron chain and plastic bag

S. had lured the woman from Zurich to New Delhi under the pretext of a ‘ritual’ and promised her ‘mental peace’. The Indian demanded compensation for the ‘cure’ – and apparently continuously. Tanja F. allegedly refused to pay in the chats.

Shortly before her death, however, she reportedly visited a bank in New Delhi. Surveillance camera footage also showed the Swiss woman at several ATMs, the official said.

The results of the autopsy on the body are now available. According to the police, Tanja F. was suffocated with an iron chain and a plastic bag. In total, forensic experts counted nine wounds on her body. (no)
