‘The cutie’, as animal rights activists call the young female animal, was hit by a car and injured in the head in early October. “She is now healthy and immediately ran out of the cage,” animal rights spokesman Panos Stefanou told the German news agency on Friday. The “sweetheart” had no small bears with him on the day of the accident, he added.
The nature conservation organization ‘Arcturos’ published a video and photos of the bear’s treatment and release on Friday. The release took place on October 23. Animal rights activists have noted in recent days that the animal is living normally again in the region and no longer needs help, the spokesperson said.
The Arcturos Wildlife Conservation Organization has saved the lives of dozens of bears over the past decades. A total of twenty currently live under the protection of the organization.
