At a Halloween party in a disco in Dresden, a man (21), dressed as a bank robber, distributed counterfeit money to several guests. Some of them took the opportunity to pay for their drinks with the wrong banknotes, police in the Saxon state capital said on Tuesday. The extent of the damage could not initially be quantified.

The 21-year-old attended the Halloween party in the Weisser Hirsch residential area in Dresden on Tuesday evening. His bank robber costume included a backpack full of counterfeit banknotes. The notes were comparable to real euro banknotes “in terms of print and size,” the report said. During the party, the man handed out the genuine-looking bills to other partygoers, who allegedly took advantage of the ‘low lighting’ in the disco to pay with the counterfeit money. (AFP)
