Police shot dead a woman at a Paris metro station who threatened to blow herself up.
The Paris prosecutor’s office said the woman had already made death threats on an S-Bahn train heading to the city center on Tuesday morning. When she did not obey the requests of the alerted officers at the train station, an officer fired a shot. The woman was seriously injured.
The woman shouted “God is great” in Arabic, the newspaper “Le Parisien” reported, citing police. According to broadcaster France Info, the fully veiled woman was shot in the stomach and taken to hospital. No explosives were found. According to the Public Prosecution Service, two investigations have been launched: against the woman because of her threats and routinely also against the officer who fired the shot. (saw/sda/dpa)
