At least twelve dead in plane crash in western Brazil. At least nine dead in plane crash in western Brazil

Twelve people were killed when a small plane crashed in western Brazil. A baby was among the dead, the Acre state government said on Sunday. The ART Táxi Aéreo plane crashed near the airport in the provincial capital Rio Branco. The plane was en route to Envira in the state of Amazonas.

“The state government of Acre expresses its solidarity with the families of the passengers, pilot and co-pilot who were on board the aircraft,” the provincial government said. “We will do everything we can to recover the bodies and prevent the flames from spreading.”

The machine crashed and exploded in a difficult-to-access forest area, the G1 news portal reported. “Since there is no way to reach it by vehicle, it is quite difficult to control the fire. “We are only allowed to use fire extinguishers,” said a fire brigade spokesperson.
