A desperate appeal from a children’s charity shop is currently causing a stir – and laughter – on the internet. The Barnardos branch in Gorseinon, Wales, had to make a public request to stop ‘donating used and unused sex toys’.
As the Wales Online portal reports, the branch has been “literally inundated with sex toys” in recent months. However, this is not suitable for resale.
“For those of you wishing to donate, please note that we are a CHILDREN’S charity and our amazing volunteer team consists of different age groups,” the volunteers wrote in their appeal for help. We therefore ask you to “refrain from donating used and unused sex aids”.
“Not the kind of toys we are looking for”
The branch also reminded people that the store was equipped with video cameras. “We can therefore trace such donations back to their owners – and will continue to do so in the future.”
A spokesperson for Barnardos told Wales Online that they were “always grateful to the many donors from the local community”. However, according to the spokesperson, these items are not quite the kind of toys we are looking for.
Exactly what type of sex toys the store received has not been made public. (zis)
