The man was discovered on this life raft.

More than two weeks ago, an American boat with two crew members disappeared from radar. There has been no trace since. Now one of the two crew members has been rescued – alive and “in stable condition,” as the US Coast Guard announced.

According to CNN, the men left the coast of Washington state on October 12 with plans to return three days later. When there was still no trace of the boat after a week, the coast guard was alerted.

Now one of the two men was “found by chance,” as a Coast Guard spokesperson tells CNN — about 70 miles offshore on a small life raft.

Search for second missing person suspended

“The man was on a life raft for a number of days and was discovered by a Canadian fishing boat that passed by more or less by chance. He was in the middle of nowhere. The fact that he was found was nothing short of a miracle. “It is quite rare for a ship to pass the mentioned location,” the spokesperson said.

The man was rescued by the crew of the Canadian fishing boat and then taken into care by the Canadian Coast Guard. He was taken to a hospital but is in “stable condition,” according to authorities.

The search for the second missing person is currently suspended. According to authorities, “further information is currently being evaluated to assess whether further action should be taken in the search.” (zis)
