15 injured in new bus accident in Venice – same bus company released after threats against the Louvre and Palace of Versailles

Fifteen people were injured in a bus accident in the Italian lagoon city of Venice. According to the police, the electric bus veered off the road on Saturday evening and crashed into the pillar of a residential building. It was said that no one’s life was in danger.

At the beginning of this month, 21 people, including three Germans, were killed in a bus accident in Venice. Both buses are from the same company. The Public Prosecution Service is now investigating the director.

According to Italian media reports, the driver of the bus that crashed on Saturday said he lost control due to a health problem. Like most passengers, he escaped with relatively minor injuries. The city had chartered the bus from the private company La Linea. The company had provided a shuttle bus to a campsite when the accident occurred on October 3.

Also at that time, there was initial speculation that the driver may have suffered a seizure. The 40-year-old Italian also died. The autopsy showed that he was healthy. Two city officials responsible for bridge and road maintenance are now under investigation. The bus, which was packed with tourists, fell from a bridge about ten meters high onto a railway line. There was a large hole in the guardrail at that time. (sda/dpa)
