The Hamas offensive has also taken Israel by surprise, which has its armed forces on constant alert. One of the terrorist actions of the Islamists: the kidnapping of random victims. Children, mothers, the elderly and even the young are now in the power of the Islamists.

One of them is the German Shani Louk (30). Militants overran a dance party under clear desert skies near a kibbutz on Saturday morning. It was a music festival for peace. There the Islamists took control of Louk.

Later that morning, videos of hostage situations appeared on social media. A family member recognized his cousin in one of these videos – because of tattoos on her lower leg. The parents also knew immediately what had happened to their daughter: “We recognized her by the tattoos,” they told the Washington Post. “And she has long dreadlocks.”

“Allahu Akbar”

In one video, Louk is still in the backseat of a pickup truck, surrounded by armed fighters. Later photos show the young woman in the back of a pickup truck – with her legs unnaturally bent. She only wears boots, shorts and a bra. Unconscious.

The young woman lies on the tailgate like a hunted animal. There is a cut on his head and his hair is covered in blood. A Hamas fighter sits with his leg over the victim. The militants chant the Islamic call to prayer ‘Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar’ – ‘God is great’. From the photos it is unlikely that Louk is still alive.

Later, her sister Adi also confirmed that Shani had been kidnapped with a cry for help on X. “This is my sister Shani Louk. She was kidnapped by Hamas today. She is a German citizen.”
