A huge fireball lit up the English night sky on Monday evening, terrifying residents, with several eyewitnesses sharing images and videos of an explosion near Oxford on Monday evening.

An eyewitness told the Oxford Mail that he saw a “strange pulsating air” from his window in north-west Oxford. “I believe it was a fire caused by a passing thunderstorm,” he continued.

The police confirmed this according to Sky News. She believes lightning struck the gas holders at a waste incinerator near Yarnton, causing a major fire.
