On September 21, there was a fight between waiters and tourists in Venice.

When you’re on the road in the city, you suddenly have to go to the toilet, but the only toilets available are in restaurants or bars. You don’t really want to eat or drink anything. This is probably what happened to four tourists in Venice on September 21.

But her decision to use the toilet in Gran Caffè Chioggia in St. Mark’s Square had devastating consequences. As “La Nuova Venezia” reports, the staff denied the four tourists access to the toilet because they had not consumed anything. The tourists then became violent.

Councilor concerned about rudeness

A video on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, shows the holidaymakers and waiters attacking each other. It wasn’t all fists and punches; the waiters grabbed chairs to force the uninvited guests out of the cafe.

“I don’t think we’ve ever seen such scenes in St. Mark’s Square,” city councilor Sebastiano Costalogna told “Antenna Tre.” Costalogna was also concerned about the “rudeness of some tourists”. (gs)
