Sex scandal in Poland. Several Catholic clergy took part in a sex party in the major city of Dąbrowa Górnicza in the south of the country. Polish media first reported the incident late last week and the church has now partially confirmed the events.
The party took place in the official residence of a priest. According to media reports, a male prostitute was also there. He fainted during the sex party for unknown reasons. One of those present called the emergency doctor. To ensure that the clerics would not be exposed, they denied the paramedics access to the apartment. It was only when the police arrived that the man was able to receive medical care – and the scandal came to light.
Church condemns incident
The Catholic Church initially denied the case. After more and more reports about the case became public, she made a public statement. Bishop Grzegorz Kaszak condemned the act and announced that the priest who organized the party had been suspended. The letter also said he hoped the priest would be “cured of his sexual orientation.” Homosexuality is still widely frowned upon in the Vatican.
As Radio Zet reports, the priest of Dąbrowa Górnicza also condemned the behavior of the clergy. “I will not tolerate such behavior. “I am aware of the scandal and am testing my faith,” he said in his Sunday sermon, the report said.
As the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza writes, the public prosecutor’s office has now opened proceedings for failure to provide assistance. (zis)
