In Wertheim-Lindelbach (D) a woman had been dead in her apartment for three and a half years. Her husband apparently continued to live there.
The woman’s absence was noticed in the village of Baden-Württemberg with 500 inhabitants. Mayor Egon Schäfer seems shocked about SWR. The couple is said to have moved here 25 years ago. Some residents asked about the woman, but accepted the man’s answer. How the body could remain undiscovered for so long is a mystery.
The woman would be 79 years old today. Police were informed of the woman’s death by family members. The officers then found the body in the apartment where the man lived. The Public Prosecution Service has so far ruled out foul play as the cause of death and the autopsy is still pending. (jwg)
