To save her smartwatch, one woman came up with an idea that wasn’t exactly smart. The result: the police had to rescue her from an unsavory situation.
On Tuesday, a Michigan woman lost her Apple Watch at a boat launch on Dixon Lake. The device had fallen into a toilet bowl.
Calls for help from the toilet block
The disgust was probably smaller than her affection for the Apple product: she decided to take the smartwatch out of the toilet with her bare hands.
However, the rescue mission to the sewerage was not successful. The woman was stuck and could not get out, police wrote. So she screamed for help until passersby saw her. They alerted the police.
Pulled out of the toilet with a strap
Thanks to the intervention of the rescuers, the toilet dive went smoothly. The toilet was removed and the woman was pulled out of the dirty water with a strap.
The local police took advantage of the bizarre action to warn the population: “If you lose an object in a toilet, you should under no circumstances try to climb into the waste water tank yourself. This can lead to serious injury and is extremely dangerous.”
What the police are not disclosing, however, is whether the woman survived the incident unharmed. And it remains unclear whether she has at least gotten her Apple Watch back. (bab)
