The fact that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj repeatedly speaks out on the world stage is a thorn in Russia’s side. This was demonstrated again during a UN Security Council meeting on Russia’s war in Ukraine. There, Russia’s UN ambassador tried to prevent Zelenskyj’s speech at the start of the meeting in New York.

Wassilij Nebensha justified this by saying that there was no reason for it. He believes that granting the President of Ukraine the right to speak and thus turning the meeting into a “one-man stand-up show” is wrong and unfounded.

Apparently an attack on Zelensky and an attempt to silence him.

Locally, however, he apparently stood alone with this opinion. He received a swipe from Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, the current head of the Security Council. He made a clear statement to the Russian politician. And the world is celebrating this response.

After Zelensky diss: Edi Rama fires at Russian politicians

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama personally invited Zelenskyj as a guest to the open session of the UN Security Council and allowed him to speak to the representatives there.

Much to Sebensja’s dismay.

He complained about the plan and argued that Rama was ignoring United Nations rules by inviting him. However, the Albanian Prime Minister had a quick response: It is notable that Russia in particular complains about an alleged violation of UN rules.

However, Nebensha continued to complain, and Rama assured him that everything was going according to the rules. Finally, he said: “This is not a special operation of the Albanian presidency.” He was referring to the choice of words by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who describes the war in Ukraine as a “special anti-terrorist operation” and thus downplays it.

Finally, he lashed out at the Russian politician:

“If you keep repeating that you consider it a violation that Zelenskyj is speaking here with the UN representatives, there is a solution: stop the war and President Zelenskyj will not speak here.”

World celebrates Russia’s response by Edi Rama

Zelensky later shared the video of the exchange on social media. He wrote, while thanking Rama: “At the UN Security Council you showed the world how to properly deal with Russia, its lies and its hypocrisy.”

The president of Ukraine was not alone in responding to Rama’s astute response. The video was widely shared. One user described the politician’s response as a “perfect response”. Anton Gerashchenko, advisor to the Ukrainian government, shares the same opinion and sees Rama’s statements as a “good answer.” He wrote: “It all comes down to one thing: Russia is solely responsible for this war.”

And one person judged the Russian representative: “Nebensya should be ashamed.” Nebenzya is clearly “afraid to learn the truth about Russian aggression and occupation in Ukraine.” Another user wrote: “This video is worth a thousand words.”
