One person was killed and twenty others injured in a serious bus accident in Austria.

A coach accident in Austria killed a woman (†19) and injured about twenty people.

As police announced on Tuesday, a 25-year-old German woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the car overturned near Micheldorf in the state of Carinthia in the early morning hours. The dead woman is an Austrian woman.

Flixbus stayed on its side

According to a police spokeswoman, the bus was on its way from Berlin to Trieste. The vehicle left the road on the highway, struck a guardrail and ultimately ended up on its side. Photos from the accident scene show that it involved a double-decker bus from the Flixbus company.

Initial investigations showed there were two drivers and 40 passengers from Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Germany and Ukraine on board, the spokeswoman said. According to the police, a driver of an oncoming vehicle alerted the emergency services. When they arrived, there were still injured people on the bus. Some of them were removed from the vehicle using hydraulic devices, others using ladders.
