Fifteen popular attractions at the theme park near Orlando were closed after the black bear was spotted in a tree near the ‘Enchanted Kingdom’ attraction, according to local TV station Fox News. The temporarily closed rides included the “Haunted Mansion” ghost train and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” theme ride.
“In the fall, bears are more active in foraging to build up fat reserves for the winter,” Lisa Thompson told the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. So this bear probably came to the park looking for food, she added. Normally it is best to let the bears do their thing quietly. In this case, however, “the adult bear” was captured “safely” and taken from the amusement park to a forest, Thompson continued.
