Now Putin would also get missiles from Iran

Iran apparently plans to massively expand its arms sales to Russia. Vladimir Putin (70) is currently receiving kamikaze drones from Iran, but would now also receive missiles. This reports the Washington Post, citing security officials from the United States and other allied states.

Iran under President Ebrahim Raisi (61) is ready to send surface-to-surface missiles to Russia in addition to other combat drones. According to the report, the decision was made as early as mid-September, when Iranian officials in Moscow negotiated new arms supplies.

Two types of short-range missiles

There are two types of short-range missiles. These must be able to hit targets at a distance of between 300 and 700 kilometers. Iran is also to provide two types of combat drones already used by the Russian military in Ukraine. According to military experts, this delivery alone could cause trouble for Ukraine.

In concrete terms, this now concerns the Iranian missiles of the Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar type. Reports of the supply – as well as use – of Iranian drones in Ukraine have always been denied from the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Iran has a large stockpile of weapons

Kiev mayor Vitali Klitschko (51) presented parts of a suspected Iranian kamikaze drone that hit the city on Monday.

With the missile delivery, Iran would finally become one of Putin’s few – and probably the most important – accomplices in the war in Ukraine. Iran has one of the largest arms stockpiles in the Middle East. (EU)
