At least two dead after suspected Israeli attack in Syria Suspected corruption in the EU Parliament: stricter rules adopted

According to activists, three people were killed in the attack.

At least two soldiers have been killed in an airstrike in western Syria blamed on the Israeli army, according to Syrian media. As state news agency Sana reported on Wednesday, six other people were reportedly injured. The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that an arms depot of militias loyal to Iran was also hit. At least three people were killed, activists said. The Israeli military declined to comment on the attack – as is usual in these cases.

The Israeli air force regularly bombs targets in neighboring civil war-torn Syria. Israel wants to prevent its arch-enemy Iran from expanding its military influence in Syria with the help of allied militias. Iran, together with Russia, is the Syrian government’s most important ally. (sda/dpa)
