What type of employees does this cash transport company hire? In Potsdam, an employee managed to steal six million euros from the safes. A year ago, an employee had relieved the company of one million euros.
The most recent theft took place at the Potsdam branch of the money and valuables transport company Prosegur. According to reports, the 26-year-old employee used a passepartout to open the safes in the branch. She ran off with the money inside. This brazen robbery was only reported the Monday after the incident, even though it had already taken place on September 2.
Surveillance cameras in the branch recorded the thief putting the banknotes into the garbage bags she had taken during her shift. She then ended her service and disappeared with an amount of six million euros.
Analyzing the video material, investigators were able to identify the vehicle of an accomplice, which they followed to Berlin, according to “Bild”. On Thursday we finally managed to arrest the 33-year-old man in Spandau. It is still unclear whether parts of the stolen amount were found on him.
The thief remains on the run – probably with a large part of the rich loot.
Not the first theft
Prosegur was not stolen until October 2022. The perpetrator was ex-employee Mirnesa S.* (43). S. started at the cash transport company in the spring of 2022. She actually worked as a telephone operator, so she shouldn’t have come into contact with the money.
But every now and then the woman also made herself useful in other ways. She is said to have helped reload cash, as ‘Bild’ reports. The shrink-wrapped banknotes are packed in special cassettes. The money is then taken to banks or ATMs are filled with it. The trained goldsmith offered her help.
Apparently not out of kindness, but to get close to all the money. (GF)
