According to Kremlin propagandist Margarita Simonyan, Russia is waging “the most difficult, toughest and most unprecedented war in Russian history” in Ukraine. This was stated by the head of RT broadcasting on state television. An excerpt of it was shared by Anton Geraschchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Minister, on Platform X, formerly Twitter.

Russian soldiers in Ukraine: According to Kremlin propagandist Margarita Simonian, the Russians there "no allies at all".

In this war, Russia has “no allies at all,” Simonyan said. In doing so, she does not follow the Kremlin’s line of describing the war against Ukraine as a ‘special military operation’.

The only comparable war in which Russia fought alone was the Crimean War from 1853 to 1856, which, however, “ended badly,” as Simonyan put it. That’s why she doesn’t really want to make such comparisons. In the Crimean War, Russia fought against an alliance of France, the Ottoman Empire, the United Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Sardinia. After three years of war, nearly 700,000 people were killed, more than two-thirds of them on the Russian side.

Instead, the RT boss cited World War I and World War II as points of comparison. In both wars they fought alongside allies such as Britain, France and the US. In World War II, they also fought side by side with a ‘large number’ of countries. “Of course,” said Simonyan, Russia hit harder than anyone else. “We must never forget that all other countries have not destroyed as many fascists, fascist divisions, fascist manpower and fascist equipment as the Soviet Union alone.”

“As best they could,” the other countries fought alongside the Soviet Union, Simonyan said. And now they’re all against us. Each and every one.” According to the RT boss, those countries no longer hide that it is no longer just a war between Russia and Ukraine, but that they themselves are involved. As an example, she cited a video that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock (Greens) showed in the Council of Europe at the beginning of January: “We are waging a war against Russia and not against each other,” the politician said at the time (reports t-online).

However, the propagandist admitted that Russia could have an ally: Belarus. “But it’s hard to call them an ally because they are ours.” In addition, Simonyan mentioned the BRICS countries and a “massive” number of other countries in Latin America, Africa and the Arab world. In total, these countries would have a much larger population than that of the Russian opponents. “These are countries that do not condemn us,” Simonyan said. “These are countries that expect us to win.”

However, they would not send soldiers or weapons, but at the same time would not discuss how many Leopard tanks or F-16 fighter jets they wanted to send to Ukraine. Instead, these countries would “just observe benevolently,” the RT chief said.
