Joe Biden (80) apparently did not contract his wife Jill (72).

First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, the White House said.

In a statement, Biden’s spokeswoman said: “Tonight the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19. She currently has only mild symptoms. She will remain at her home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.” US President Joe Biden, 80, was immediately tested – but negative.

Certainly, he will continue to be tested regularly this week, the White House said.

Both became infected last summer

Jill Biden was infected with the corona virus last summer after a holiday in South Carolina, just like her husband.

According to CNN, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in July that anyone who meets the president will be tested for Covid-19 before the meeting.

“We have test protocols if someone meets the president,” the spokeswoman said, according to the TV channel. “So I can tell you that everyone who meets the president is actually being tested. I’m being tested. We will all do that.” (neo)
