EDA assists at Rhodes airport with a dedicated Swiss research team: new findings on the Antikythera wreck in Greece

A counter has been opened for Swiss people seeking help at the airport of the Greek island of Rhodes, which has been stricken by forest fires. The Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs (EDA) announced this on request on Monday.

The FDFA announced on Sunday that an additional consular officer was on its way to Rhodes to reinforce the local honorary consulate. This has now arrived at Rhodes, so that the counter can be opened.

The FDFA also announced on Monday that the FDFA helpline has now answered about 150 questions about the situation on the island off the Turkish coast. On Sunday evening there were still about a hundred.

The FDFA has also updated its travel advice on Greece and posted a link to this advice on the Twitter channel “travel_EDA-DFAE”. The FDFA recommends following the instructions of the local authorities and provides telephone numbers of the Greek authorities in the travel information for foreigners seeking assistance. (sda)
