The teased boy looks for friends in a touching way – his story goes viral Anna hands out presents and photos on the Gurten – but it’s not (completely) free

The story of Shayden Walker from Amarillo, Texas is currently moving people around the world. The 11-year-old was bullied by the kids at his school. He therefore sought new friends in his neighbourhood. The video of it went viral on TikTok:

Shayden went door to door asking if anyone would be his friend or if anyone could know of friends for him. No one was home with Brennan and Angell Ray, but the two spoke to him on the door cam. Although they couldn’t help him directly, they were touched by his story.

Nearly $40,000 for Shayden

They uploaded the video to TikTok, where it quickly gained more than 70 million views. They also set up a GoFundMe campaign for the boy. It raised $37,257 – so he should be able to afford clothes, video games or vacations.

But what brings him much more: under the video, people from all over the world cheered him on. Some wrote that now he has friends everywhere. Others offered to play video games with him.

An event was also organized in his neighbourhood. Under the motto “Shine like Shayden”, an anti-bullying sign was put up and Shayden met many new people and friends. (lzo)
