For his sons, Pattaya is “the city with two faces”. There is the merry world of tourists. And then the underworld full of drugs, prostitution and shady characters. In principle, the sons do not see any intersections. They call it “bad luck” and coincidence that their father, a thoroughly trusted real estate entrepreneur who was “loved by all,” has now become such a crossroads. One in 13 parts, to be exact. Chopped into pieces with a chainsaw. And coffin in a freezer. She was found in the bedroom of a villa in suburban Pattaya, and Thai police believe the coffin and its contents should have been dumped into the sea.
But the team led by the deputy police chief, nicknamed “Big Joke”, was faster: on July 10, it found frozen German ex-top manager Hans-Peter Mack (62). He has lived in Thailand for 20 years, on July 4 his wife reported him missing, she is 24, the two have been together since 2018. In 2018, Mack was also suspected of running a child trafficking ring and narrowly escaped prison. A man from the better side of Pattaya.
The police investigate: there is a chainsaw in Mack’s Mercedes, which became the kidnapping vehicle and murder scene. A perpetrator can be found via the serial number, the rocker Olaf B., a man from the “German emigrant environment”, as the “Bild” writes, and we know what is happening in this environment from “See you in Germany”.
High criminal energy
However, the emigrant paradise of Mallorca has never been hit as hard as Pattaya. In Pattaya there are clearly Germans with a high criminal energy content. The German tabloid is soon full of stories about “Partij-Petra” and the “stubble murder”. The “statue” is on fire, making everything about Petra the main story for days.
But it’s also spicy. Because with Petra, Stückel’s murder has spread far and wide into the most illustrious European circles. Quasi to the high nobility of the trash can. Including superhumans like the Büchners from Mallorca, with whom she liked to have her picture taken, brothel keepers, needy characters eager to get ahead in the fabric of the attention economy, and even the Viennese construction, party and wannabe lion Richard Lugner. It’s a creepy festival. And probably the deepest abyss of the media summer crisis in 2023.
“Charming Men, She Can”
Petra Christl Grundgreif, as the alleged mastermind behind Mack’s murder is called, is a con artist who has already been fined twice in Germany. “Petra G.” is 54, has no grace or glamour, just a signature neck tattoo, but “bewitching men, she can do that,” says Viennese brothel operator PL, who ultimately should know she just has “such a fun, engaging, maternal character.”
And so she relieves charmed men of all ages of a lot of money. Her scam is always the same: she pretends to be an events and artist manager who promises gullible gentlemen the moonlight, but unfortunately hasn’t booked a hotel room yet or simply hasn’t brought any money with her.
The fairy tale of the gentlemen’s club
The Munich costume designer Thomas Lerchenberger of the label “Schickeria Trachten” lets her live in his late mother’s apartment because they are allegedly organizing a fashion show with his collection. Nowhere does she want to reopen the Contenance Club in Munich, which was closed in 2019. The club was for super-rich men, membership cost 50,000 euros a year, the generous escort ladies were only allowed to talk when they were approached, the caviar was available by the kilo, typical Munich decadence. Petra knows exactly that Lerchenberger likes this idea.
Within a few days, Petra emptied the apartment and rented it out to Romanian pimps and their prostitutes for Oktoberfest. Petra had also pretended to be his wife, forged documents and emptied his account. Lerchenberger was therefore homeless for three months: “Because of her I was on the street, I slept in the bushes.”
The It-Boy from Munich and fashion blogger Chris Hanisch (“eternal 21” and “boss friend” by Kader Loth) also lent Petra money for a while, although he noticed that she kept changing telephone numbers and home addresses with various “friends”. With a shudder, he now tells the Munich evening newspaper: “Petra was dangerous in Munich. Who knows, I wouldn’t have ended up in the fridge either.”
Brothel owner PL introduces Petra to Richard Lugner, she organizes a birthday party for Lugner while filming in Mallorca. When Hans-Peter Mack was murdered, the 90-year-old was reminded of the case of the ice cream parlor killer in Vienna.
Lugner says no (to women!)
In 2008, ice cream parlor operator Estibaliz Carranza shot and killed her abusive husband. When she couldn’t burn it because of the remarkably thick smoke, she sawed it into pieces, froze it first in plastic bags, put them in flower pots and containers and filled them with concrete. Unfortunately, the head was frozen to the bottom of the freezer, so she poured concrete over it. Two years later, she did the exact same thing with her new partner.
Apparently, Carranza was once interested in liars too. He is stunned: “Two women hit me and both chopped up the men. This is insanely insane. I am infinitely happy and grateful that I said ‘no’ every time.”
All the dark men who became involved with the maternal Petra now say that even then they found her “windy” and “half silk”.
In Thailand, Petra probably persuaded Mack to close a real estate deal. For 18.2 million euros (an awful amount for Thailand) he should buy a luxury villa and a boxing hall on Koh Samui. A surveillance camera shows how Mack is drinking a cup of coffee with Petra G. shortly before his disappearance.
Before her accomplice Olaf B. (52) kidnapped the entrepreneur, more than 50,000 euros disappeared from Mack’s account. Meanwhile, Olaf’s girlfriend Nicole F. (52) had rented the house in which the freezer was located. She says she had no idea what was in the chest in the bedroom. A 27-year-old Pakistani and a German named Enrico complete the murderous quintet.
Olaf B. was the first to be arrested, Petra Christl Grundgreif, the impostor who goes to the last, turned himself in to the police, all five are now detained in Thailand. What exactly her plan was and how it came about will probably be known soon. The Thai public is already very relieved: “All suspects are foreigners,” writes Khaosod newspaper. big joke
