There were heavy storms in northern Italy on Thursday evening. Some provinces of the Veneto region in the northeast were particularly affected – there were hurricanes, hailstorms and heavy rains.
Hailstones the size of tennis balls sometimes caused serious damage. All in all, it storms in the north about 110 people were injured by hail, broken glass and falls, as announced by the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, on Thursday morning. One person was seriously injured when he fell from a roof.

The provinces of Venice, Padua, Vicenza and Treviso were particularly hard hit. According to the fire service, it had to go out on almost 200 missions since Wednesday evening. They were clearing fallen trees from the streets and securing roofs of houses. According to Zaia, the fire department and civil protection have made about 350 emergency calls.
The storm also caused damage in Trentino, especially in the forests. Parts of northern Italy have been ravaged by storms since Tuesday. South Tyrol was also hit.
