A fierce storm raged over the Austrian state of Tyrol on Tuesday afternoon. In the middle: a Swiss couple who spend their holidays at camping Natterer See.
“When the storm hit, we decided to clean up and go to the restaurant for an aperitif,” Roman H. (29) tells Blick. That was the right decision, as it turns out later.
“The hole is only about five feet wide”
When the inhabitants of Thurgau return to their campsite, enthusiastic camping guests are already approaching them. «A big tree popped right between our tent and our car. The gap is only about five feet. We’ve had a lot of bad luck,” says the reader-reporter.
He told his girlfriend that he hoped the car wouldn’t break down in the storm. The tree promptly fell over.
Several forest rangers were immediately called to remove the tree from the car. Then H. experienced a small miracle: the car and the tent were not scratched at all. “I still have to clean the car,” says H. laughing. (A)
