What is the best way to remove stuck hands from the asphalt? German police officers have had to ask themselves this question over and over lately. On Friday, numerous climate activists of the last generation once again blocked the streets of Berlin. Glue protests were formed in several places.
The police must get the protesters off the street. Edible oil is regularly used in the involuntary “liberation actions”, which facilitates the “liberation”.
Now the creative technique has been expanded with a budgetary means. A string is also used to solve the activists even faster, the “Berliner Zeitung” reported on Saturday. The wire is put on the wrist of the protesters – then it is pulled. The wire has apparently replaced careful scratching and scrubbing with soapy water.
The aim of the officials is clear: to save time, avoid traffic congestion and reduce the risk of injury to the protesters.
Civil servants are specially trained
In recent months, various German media reported on national training and refresher courses for police officers, in which the theme of loose hands and the various forms of action of the last generation were discussed. Apparently the frying oil method has now been perfected with the rope.
And: the officials’ wire trick seems to be working. Before noon on Friday, all demonstrators were successfully removed from the street. (A)
