She hit the gas and destroyed a family. Angelika H.* (31) killed three people last week in the northern Italian municipality of Santo Stefano di Cadore. The grandmother, the father and a two-year-old boy died in the accident.
Now the investigating prosecutor Paolo Luca tells about the background of the frenzy. Giuseppe Triolo is the public defender of Angelika H. He stressed to the German news agency: “There are currently no indications that it was intentional.” H. is currently in a hospital in Venice, where she is undergoing psychiatric treatment. According to Triolo, she is incapable of interrogation. The defender warns against judging H. too quickly: “You can’t get justice if you treat a vulnerable person this way.”
