Last week there was a big crash in Santo Stefano di Cadore.

She hit the gas and destroyed a family. Angelika H.* (31) killed three people last week in the northern Italian municipality of Santo Stefano di Cadore. The grandmother, the father and a two-year-old boy died in the accident.

Now the investigating prosecutor Paolo Luca tells about the background of the frenzy. At a media conference in the city of Belluno on Tuesday, Luca explained that there was currently no intention. “An outburst of anger is more likely, the cause of which we do not know,” “Focus” quotes the lawyer. H. is thus “a person who cannot restrain his anger”.

Long imprisonment threatened

A technical report excludes distractions from your mobile phone. H. has not called or surfed while driving.

In addition, the public prosecutor said about the living situation of the Germans: “She was lonely, she drove her car, a car in which she ate and slept. There are no reports that she stayed in shelters.”

She has been traveling between South Tyrol and Veneto since May. Now they are trying to reconstruct the past events in the woman’s life, says Luca.

“You don’t get justice by nailing a fragile person to a cross and slaughtering that way.”Giuseppe Triolo, defender of Angelika H.

H. faces a long prison sentence, Luca explains at the media conference. A murder on the road carries a prison sentence of two to seven years per victim. Multiple deaths can result in a prison sentence of up to 18 years. However, H. could expect an even longer sentence if there were “aggravating factors” such as intent or twice the speed limit.

Defender warns of prejudice

Giuseppe Triolo is the public defender of Angelika H. He stressed to the German news agency: “There are currently no indications that it was intentional.” H. is currently in a hospital in Venice, where she is undergoing psychiatric treatment. According to Triolo, she is incapable of interrogation. The defender warns against judging H. too quickly: “You can’t get justice if you treat a vulnerable person this way.”

Triolo told Italian newspaper Corriere that his client had no recollection of the accident. “I’m in an abyss”, H. is said to have said time and time again. (Darling)
