Germany is supplying Ukraine with more arms and ammunition worth almost 700 million euros. This was announced on Tuesday in the margins of the NATO summit in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius from government circles.
US President Joe Biden wants to promote the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, according to his national security adviser Jake Sullivan. Biden had made it clear for months that he supported selling the machines to Turkey, Sullivan said at a press conference at the start of the NATO summit in Vilnius.
During the press conference, Biden’s adviser was asked if the modernization of Turkey’s F-16 fleet, which the United States was seeking, was in exchange for the lifting of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s blockade of the accession of Sweden to NATO. Sullivan said Biden never attached any conditions to the proposed sale.
